Context really matter

Even great, fully functional and beautiful solutions placed into the wrong context may be quite deadly. So when you build a new IT solution the context and alignment between BU and IT teams really matters. How to make sure the context is documented and available to anyone so the teams can take right decisions rather than assume?

Enterprise Architecture (EA) has been a critical discipline for organizations for many years, serving as a framework for establishing, documenting, and communicating organizational design. EA encompasses a comprehensive approach to understanding and managing an organization's structure, processes, and systems, with the aim of aligning them with overall business objectives.

Some tips that have proven effective for me:

  • Ensure that relevant Enterprise Architecture artifacts are documented, current, and easily accessible for reference when designing new IT solutions. This facilitates a shared understanding and utilization of these artifacts throughout the organizatio
  • Encourage teams to incorporate Enterprise Architecture artifacts into their daily discussions and decisions, thus maintaining their relevance and currency.
  • Align Enterprise Architecture and any modifications with the overall company strategy.
